Cynthia Simonet is a well-known local tour guide of Trim who now runs daily tours (must be booked in advance) of the town and its nearby heritage sites. Take the Medieval Mile tour to explore the history of medieval Trim. This walk takes approximately 40 minutes and is €3 per person.
The Holy grail of Knights and Monks tour explores Trim through the medieval Porch Fields to the beautiful Newtown ruins. This walk takes approx. 1 hour and 15 minutes and costs €5 per person. Braveheart 25- Trim Castle Celebrations
Trim - Tourism Network is delighted to present Braveheart 25 celebrations to you this August 13th and 14th.
This 25-year celebration was pushed out due to the pandemic.
Now Trim has FREEDOM again…… The big event of the weekend festivities is the screening of the movie Braveheart in front of Trim Castle. This outdoor evening screening takes place on Saturday August 13th. There will be lots of activity going on along with your chance to meet some of the original cast members. Look forward to a few surprises too, but all will be revealed closer to the date.

Starting at Trim Castle running from there around the historic Porch Fields and back to the Castle to get into Kayaks, your trip along the river Boyne in the Kayaks brings you past some of Trim’s great history.
It won’t be long until you’re out of the relaxed setting of the kayaks and getting onto your bike to travel along the fantastic roads of County Meath, the challenge continues to a lake setting where you are back off the bikes for a little endurance challenge, have your energy packs ready for this one, then to finish off you are back on the bikes for another few km’s back to Trim, finishing at Trim Castle to the start of the Salmon of Knowledge Festival and Race Around Ireland. The race incorporate a distance of 32km.
